
New Detour Starts Wednesday, August 26 at Hwy. 52/I-90 Interchange Southeast of Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A new detour begins Wednesday, August 26 at the Interstate 90 and Hwy. 52 interchange southeast of Rochester.

Work to transform the interchange is continuing to progress.
Last week, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced the ramp connecting westbound I-90 and northbound Hwy. 52 had reopened.

Crews also completed beam setting and deck pouring on the new I-90 westbound overpass at the interchange earlier this month. A new flyover ramp connecting southbound Hwy. 52 with eastbound I-90 opened last month.

I-90 East Off Ramp to Hwy. 52 to Close for Two Weeks on August 26
The new detour stems from the closure of the off-ramp from eastbound I-90 to Hwy. 52. Crews will be paving the northbound lanes of Hwy. 52 and installing curbs and gutters.
MnDOT is anticipating the detour to be in place for two weeks.
Detour Route
Eastbound I-90 Motorists looking to travel north on Hwy. 52 will be detoured off the interstate at Hwy. 63 in Stewartville. From there they’ll follow Hwy. 63 north to Hwy. 52 in Rochester.
Drivers seeking southbound Hwy. 52 from eastbound I-90 will continue east to the Hwy. 42/County Rd. 7 interchange near Eyota and take County Rd. 7 south to Hwy. 52.
The $27.5 million I-90/Hwy. 52 interchange project is in its third and final year.
