
Vehicle-pedestrian Crash Victim Dies at Rochester Hospital
Madelia, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man who was airlifted to Rochester for treatment after being struck by a vehicle in a small southern Minnesota city last week has died from his injuries.
The Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office says the deadly incident occurred on the evening of February 7 in Madelia. A news release says a 73-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl were struck by a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old Madelia man at an intersection along the city’s main street near the Madelia Elementary School..
Airlifted to Rochester
The 73-year-old victim was initially taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to St. Marys Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. The 13-year-old girl was brought to a hospital in Madelia and was later released.

Investigation Ongoing
The Minnesota State Patrol conducted a crash reconstruction investigation. The Sheriff’s Office says the names of the pedestrians and the driver have not been released at this time pending review of the investigation for possible charges.
