
Arrest Made After Threats Cancel Twin Cities High School Classes
Apple Valley, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Apple Valley Police Department reports that an arrest has been made in c Search Warrant Executed inonnection with a series of threats that resulted in the cancellation of high school classes throughout a large southern Twin Cities school district.
Threats Prompt Widespread School Closures
Earlier today, School District 196 announced that, as a precautionary measure, classes were canceled for students attending Apple Valley, Eastview, Burnsville, Rosemount, and Eagan High Schools. The announcement indicated that Apple Valley police were contacted around 6:45 Monday evening regarding potential threats made on social media. Investigators were informed of “multiple concerning messages” that referenced possible harm directed at the high schools.
Search Warrant Executed in Eagan
Apple Valley police announced this afternoon that an extensive investigation into the threats led to the execution of a search warrant in Eagan. Authorities also disclosed that a 16-year-old boy believed to be responsible for the threats was taken into custody.
A news release says no weapons were found during the search.

The juvenile suspect is being detained at the Dakota County Juvenile Detention Center pending the filing of formal charges.
