This might be a preview of where fast-casual dining is headed — and it’s happening right here at home.

The very first Famous Dave’s BBQ + Papa Murphy’s combo restaurant has officially opened on West 7th Street in St. Paul. Yep, ribs and take-and-bake pizza under the same roof. What a time to be alive.

The spot is celebrating its grand opening this weekend, and they’re giving people a pretty solid incentive to check it out: 50% off select online orders.

According to folks from both brands, this mash-up isn’t a one-off experiment. The plan is to roll the concept out nationwide. Famous Dave’s parent company, BBQ Holdings, was bought by Papa Murphy’s parent, MTI Food Group, back in 2022. Since then, MTI has made it clear they want to squeeze more revenue out of existing locations by pairing brands they already own.

And they’ve got plenty to mix and match. MTI’s portfolio includes names like Cold Stone Creamery, Baja Fresh, Wetzel’s Pretzels, Planet Smoothie, Pinkberry, and Tasti D-Lite.

So if grabbing brisket and pizza in one stop feels a little weird now… you might want to get used to it.
