Is One Of MN’s Favorite Convenience Brands Entering North Dakota?
'We'll see you next time.' That is a greeting that most people in Minnesota and Wisconsin can all relate to, as it is what we hear when we leave any Kwik Trip location. Yesterday on social media, the convenience brand dropped a question that has lots of people speculating what it means.
Will Kwik Trip Be Opening Locations In This 'Legendary' State?
Yesterday on the social media site X, I noticed that the convenience store asked a question that seemed to garner some attention from plenty of Midwestern eyes. Kwik Trip asked 'What is there to do in North Dakota? Asking for a friend.

Currently, There Are No Kwik Trips In ND, And That Won't Change...
Currently, if you were to hop on I-94 and head West, once you enter our Legendary neighbor, you are out of luck if you are looking for Nature's Touch milk or a dozen Glazers.
That all changes this week as a Kwik Star store is expected to open in Fargo on Thursday, according to the Kwik Trip website.
"Remember when we expanded to South Dakota in 2023? Ahh, the gold ol’ days. But what if I told you we’re joining its neighboring state? Yep, that’s right! Our first North Dakota store is opening in Fargo on November 20, 2025! Even better news: We’re opening up stores in Moorhead, MN, starting October 9, 2025."
Kwik Trip Is Expanding North & West But The Name Isn't
It wasn't too long ago that Kwik Trip opened its first location in Baxter, as well as opening a store across the border from North Dakota in Moorhead in October. The Wisconsin-based brand has seen tremendous success over the years as it has expanded out of the dairy state and into Minnesota, and now it is going further west, to North Dakota.

The website goes on to state that the store opening in Fargo won't be called a Kwik Trip, but rather a Kwik Star, which is still "is owned and operated under Kwik Trip and is essentially the same thing– just a slightly different name!"
Dearly Beloved. We Are Gathered Here Today.
Prince opened up his 1984 hit Let's Go Crazy with the following lyrics:
Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today. To get through this thing called "life"
And that song is probably appropriate for Thursday for all our friends in Fargo, as life is about to get crazy, but also pretty good with a Kwik Star/Trip on the way. Go crazy, Fargo, just remember, they'll still see ya next time.
