The Granite City Lumberjacks crossed an item off their 2024-2025 season to-do list. Over the weekend the Lumberjacks were the first team in the NA3HL this season to clinch a playoff spot, here's what's still ahead for the Lumberjacks.

The news of winning a playoff spot, after a Saturday matinee game win, 6-2,  was welcome news for the team as they would have a long bus ride back from Mason City. One would think that knowing they had won, would make the 3-hour ride back to the St. Cloud area a little more fun.

Friday night, the Jacks fell to the Toros 5-4 in OT.

Coming up for the West Division leaders, they are back on the road for Friday and Saturday night games. The Lumberjacks are heading to Blaine on Friday night to take on the Minnesota Moose, puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM.

On Saturday, the Lumberjacks take the bus ride to Willmar to take on the Warhawks, that game is scheduled to start at 7:10 PM.

Norsemen sweep Mallards, gear up for home and home series.

Elsewhere on the ice this weekend, over in the NAHL, the St. Cloud Norsemen were in action down in Forest Lake on Friday night, beating the Mallards 5-2. The Norsemen broke out the brooms on Saturday as they swept the Mallards winning 4-1.

Up next for the Norsemen, who are currently in 5th place in the Central Division with a 19-15-1-3 record, is a home-and-home series with the Austin (MN) Bruins. Friday night the Bruins will come to town for a 7 PM puck drop at the MAC, and then the Norsemen take the long ride down I-35 and hang a left on I-90 to get to Austin for a Saturday Night SPAM-Town showdown. Game time on Saturday night is 7:05 PM.
