Steve Aoki Postpones Minnesota Concert. Here’s the Real Reason
In just 10 days, Minnesota was supposed to be hit by a blizzard of a concert and maybe a few flying sheet cakes. Instead, that party is now postponed until later this year.
Internationally known DJ Steve Aoki was scheduled to bring his highly anticipated Dim Mak 30th Anniversary Tour to The Armory in Minneapolis. The Twin Cities stop was one of only a handful across the country celebrating the 30th anniversary of his record label.

For fans in Minnesota, the February date was shaping up to be one of the biggest electronic dance music events of the winter, drawing crowds from across the region.
Why Steve Aoki Show Was Postponed in MN
In a letter to fans explaining the postponement, Aoki said it was a difficult decision. He emphasized that he wants to deliver a show fans truly deserve, and that meant making changes rather than rushing the production.

According to Aoki, both the Minneapolis and San Francisco shows are being built from the ground up. That includes a new custom stage and new visuals created specifically for these performances, elements that will not be seen anywhere else on the tour.
The DJ, known for throwing sheet cakes into the crowd during his high-energy sets, said he learned the production would not be ready at the level he expected in time for the originally scheduled shows.
New Date Announced For The Armory in MN
Anyone who purchased tickets for the February show does not need to take action. Those tickets will be honored for the newly scheduled performance on Saturday, October 17th at The Armory in Minneapolis.
Limited tickets remain available for the postponed date. Refunds will also be offered for fans who are unable to attend in October.
While Minnesota will have to wait a little longer for the cake-tossing chaos and custom visuals, Aoki has made it clear that the goal is a bigger, more polished experience when he returns to the Twin Cities this fall.
