A lot of Minnesotans will be living the dream tomorrow! One Northland golf course will be opening up shop, giving golfers in the area a chance to golf earlier in the season than they probably ever have.

On Wednesday, Big Lake Golf Course shared a special post on Facebook: they are opening on Friday, March 1st. They will be opening at 11 a.m. sharp, allowing time for the frost to melt before golfers hit the course.

They will remain open throughout the weekend, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As of now, they say their plan is to be open again on warmer weekends as we ease our way into spring.

They suggest following their Facebook page and website, as that is where they will be announcing when they will be opening on those warmer weekends mentioned. For now, it is walking only until it gets even warmer.

Tee times are not required this time around. Instead, just show up to Big Lake Golf Course and check in at the Club House. Big Lake Golf Course is located at 979 Cary Road in Cloquet.

This has been one of the weirdest 'winters' ever, especially considering we had our snowiest season ever in Duluth last year! This time around, Mother Nature is making it up to us with a very mild winter so far. In fact, the Duluth area had its least snowy February ever.

Cheers to spring? I guess we will have to wait and see for sure, but for now, get outside and enjoy some golf in March. It may never happen again.
