When it comes to nationwide lottery games, Powerball always seems to get the most attention, but Mega Millions is another game to play to score massive jackpots.

Mega Millions jackpots start at $50 million and keep growing until someone wins. The cost per play is $5, which includes a built-in, randomly generated multiplier (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X) for a chance to increase non-jackpot wins. The multiplier number will be assigned per line of play at the time of purchase.

Players can pick their own 5 numbers, from 1 to 70, and a Mega Ball number from 1 to 24, or have them generated randomly through a quick pick option.

Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 p.m. CST, and on Friday, February 6, the jackpot had grown to an estimated $346 million. While nobody won the jackpot, someone in Minnesota did score a massive payday.

$3 Million Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Minnesota

Winning the Mega Millions jackpot requires matching five white balls (1–70) and the yellow Mega Ball (1–24), with odds of winning at 1 in 302.5 million.

The winning numbers on February 6 were: 13-21-25-52-62, with a Mega Ball of 19.

Someone in Minnesota matched all five white balls (13, 21, 25, 52, 62) but missed the Mega Ball (19), which guarantees winning $1 million. The lucky winner then tripled that standard $1 million prize to $3 million thanks to the 3X Megaplier.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Holiday Stationstore located at 1472 Babcok Boulevard E in Delano. Delano is located in Wright County, Minnesota, about 27 miles west of downtown Minneapolis.

As of February 11, the $3 million prize is being reported as unclaimed. Hopefully, the new millionaire realizes they have the winning ticket and claims their big payday soon. However, unless the winner decides to come forward publicly, we may never know who they are.

There are regulations to protect lottery winners who win over $10,000 because big-money winners can become targets for scammers and fraud, so the Minnesota Lottery will not divulge their name unless they first agree to it.
