
Man, Child Found Shot Dead in Rural Minnesota Home
Holmesville Township, MN (MinnesotaNow) - A man and a child were found shot to death yesterday at a rural home in northwestern Minnesota.
The Becker County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the property in Holmesville Township near Detroit Lakes around 12:30 PM. The response was due to a call from a man who indicated that he had gone to the home to check on his brother because he had failed to show up for work.
Both Victims Died From Apparent Gunshot Wounds
The man reported that he found his brother deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. When Becker County deputies arrived, the Sheriff's Office says they located a child who had also died from an apparent gunshot wound.

Isolated Incident
The names and ages of the deceased man and child have not been released. A news release says the fatal shootings appear to have been the result of an isolated incident with no known threat to the public.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the investigation.
