Growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, 7-Eleven was everywhere and nothing was better than a Slurpee on a hot summer day. Now it's looking like the worlds largest convenience store is making its return to the Northstar State.

This acquisition is the largest in our company's history and will allow us to continue to grow and diversify our presence in the U.S., particularly in the Midwest and East Coast- John DePinto, 7-Eleven CEO

According to Bring Me the News, 7-Eleven made a deal with Marathon Petroleum to purchase 3,900 Speedway locations across 35 states. SuperAmerica was rebranded as Speedway two years ago after Marathon purchased the oil company Andeavor.  It is not clear if all Speedways stores would be seeing a name change. If Speedways is rebranded, this would be the second time a rebrand will be happening for Marathon. It is estimated that 265 stores would be rebranded across the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

This would not be the first time 7-Eleven has been in Minnesota. The convenience store was around till 1989, then the company filled for bankruptcy and sold off 66 of its stores to SuperAmerica. It's only a matter of time until we are able to enjoy a Big Gulp and Big Bite in Minnesota again!
