Sunday marks the third time the Vikings will play in England

The Vikings are making their third appearance in the NFL's International Series taking on the New Orleans Saints in London, U.K. on Sunday. Here's how to watch the game back home in Minnesota.

The NFL has been vigilant in recent years about expanding its reach beyond the borders of the U.S. by scheduling games overseas as part of their International Series. After a few years off due to the pandemic, the league has scheduled five different games in Europe during the 2022 season, including the first-ever game to be held in Germany later this fall.

Where is Sunday's game taking place?

The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints are set to kick off the 2022 NFL International Series Sunday, October 2nd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. If you recall, the game is a rematch of the 2017 playoffs' "Minneapolis Miracle" game but features two teams who didn't make the playoffs in 2021.

The Vikings squeaked out a win last week in the final seconds and notched their second win of the season against the Detroit Lions at home at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 3 and are 2-and-1. After winning their first game of the season, the Saints have now lost two in a row, most recently coming up short against Carolina in Week 3 and are now 1-and-2.

Here's how to watch the game here in Minnesota

You'll have to get up a little early if you want to watch Sunday's game, though. Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm local time over in London, but seeing as the U.K. is six hours ahead of us here in Minnesota, that means that the game will actually start at 8:30 am here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. And, unless you've booked a last-minute flight over to Europe, you'll want to make sure you have access to a TV or device with a subscription to the NFL Network (or NFL+) because that's the only broadcast outlet that's set to broadcast the game Sunday. (If you live close to the Twin Cities, you can also catch the game over the air on KSTP-TV Channel 5.)

The Vikings Have Performed Well When They've Played in Europe

The Vikings have had good luck playing overseas. In fact, they're undefeated: They beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in London in 2013 and also beat the Cleveland Browns in London in 2017. They also played a pre-season game in London in 1983, where they beat the Cardinals, as well as notching pre-season wins against the Bears in Sweden in 1988; the Bills in Berlin, Germany in 1993; and the Chiefs in Tokyo, Japan in 1994.
