ROCHESTER--Blooming Prairie's tournament run ended Saturday at Mayo Civic Center Auditorium as the No. 1 ranked Goodhue Wildcats led wire-to-wire in a 54-42 Subsection 1A West title game victory.  The Awesome Blossoms started very slow, trailing 15-3 early and were down 27-7 late in the first half.  BP came all the way back to within 6 points at 46-40 with 5 minutes to go, but it was too little, too late for the Blossoms, who reached their first Subsection final since 2005. Junior Madison Worke sparked the Blossoms' run, scoring 19 of her 21 points after Goodhue built their 20-point lead.  Junior Taylor Hagen added 9 points for BP, who were bit by turnovers throughout the game. Goodhue will play in its seventh straight Sec. 1A title game against Rushford-Peterson next Thursday night at Mayo Civic Center--the Wildcats were defeated by Bethlehem Academy each of the last two seasons in the Sec. 1A final. Click below for Blooming Prairie highlights from the game as heard on Kat Kountry 104.9 FM...
