I bring up the subject because in talking with several people, they mentioned they had not heard about Informed Delivery from the United States Postal Service.

I didn't even know what it was until I bought a house almost two years ago.  There was an option to sign up for it when I changed my address.  What Informed Delivery by the USPS does is let you digitally preview your mail and also manage your packages that are on their way to you.

It's a pretty slick system and it shows up right in your email inbox.  You can view images of mail that will be arriving that day and you can even zoom in if needed to see who is sending you something.  The added package tracking portion of it is great too, especially with how the mail in general has been with delayed package shipping.  It's also totally free to sign up for and only takes a couple of minutes.

With Informed Delivery, there are also options available to leave delivery instructions, schedule re-delivery if your missed something, and of course manage your notifications including setting up text alerts.  It might not be for everyone but it sure is a slick way to know what's coming your way.  You can get all of the details about signing up and find out more about what this service offers to you HERE.
