Go For a Walk
When I was a kid, I walked everywhere, and I mean everywhere. I chose to walk to school, to any activities I had, I even walked to work. If the weather was bad, I would get a ride, otherwise, I was outside no matter the season, walking.
I miss those days, and how good it felt to be so active, so, my daughter and I are now starting a daily walk. There are so many different trails in Owatonna, there is no reason to not take advantage of them. Not only are we able to enjoy the trails, we are able to enjoy each other's company, as well as getting our bodies into better shape.
There are a lot of advantages of walking, even for 30 minutes a day, a couple of examples of the benefits:
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Improve your mood
- Improve your balance and coordination.
I am happy knowing that I am improving my mood. Of course, we have the perfect excuse to walk, we cut the cord a few weeks ago, in order to be more active. You can read about that here. The best thing about walking, you don't need any special equipment, just comfy shoes and a desire to get out there.
