Free Ham Radio Classes

Steele County Emergency Management is teaming up with the Owatonna Steele County Amateur Radio Club or OSCAR to offer free a Ham Radio license class.

The class will begin February 20 and run through March 15. Hours will be 6:30PM till 8:30PM on Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Owatonna Fire Station. The instruction guide is free and the cost for the study guide is $30.  The OSCAR web site has more information. Click on 2018 Technician Class under the General Announcements tab.

The license exam will be offered on March 15. All levels of the Amateur Radio license exams will be available on that date. The fee is $15. The license exams on March 15 will be open to anyone wishing to take them.

While the class is open to all ages, those 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Call Tom at (507)-444-9133 to register or find out more.
