
Five Big 9 Girls Basketball Teams in State Rankings
The Minnesota Basketball News latest girls rankings have five Big 9 Conference teams among the elite in the state. Four of them in Class 3A and one in Class 4A. Red Wing is now #1 in Class 3A with Waseca #2. Mankato West is #15, Austin #16 and Northfield #20. Rochester John Marshall has the #20 spot in Class 4A.
Six teams in the South Suburban Conference are in the top 19 in Class 4A. Unbeaten Hopkins and Wayzata are #1 and #2. Farmington is #3, Eastview #8, Apple Valley #15, Lakeville North #16, Shakopee #17 and Prior Lake #19. There are also five teams out of the Hiawatha Valley League ranked. In Class 1A Goodhue is #3. In Class 2A Rochester Lourdes is #6, Lake City #17, Stewartville #18 and Zumbrota-Mazeppa #20.
Sauk Centre tops the Class 2A rankings with Roseau #2. Minnesota River representative Norwood-Young America is #9. Unbeaten Medford is still in the #10 spot. Caledonia is #13, Winona Cotter #16.
Undefeated Minneota and Menahga are #1 and #2 in Class 1A.
KDHL will be broadcasting a game Friday that will undoutedly determine the top seed in the Section 1A Tournament. The Goodhue Wildcats travel to Grand Meadow. The Super Larks are unbeaten and rated #4 in 1A with Goodhue ranked #3. Varsity coverage begins 7:00 p.m.
We will also have the Goodhue game Tuesday against Class 2A #20 ranked Zumbrota-Mazeppa on KDHL. Coverage begins 7:00 p.m.
