Have you been thinking about how you are going to transfer your land or farm business to the next generation? It is a difficult topic for many farmers to think about even if they do not have sons or daughters involved in the operation. The University of Minnesota Extension Service will be hosting two workshops on farm transition and estate planning on Thursday November 1, 2019 from 9:30 to 3:00 pm at the Elko New Market Library 110 J. Roberts Way Elko New Market and Wednesday December 4, 2019 from 9:30 to 3:30 pm at the Carver County Public Works Building 11360 Highway West, Cologne.

The workshops will go over many topics of the farm transition process which include family communications, farm goal setting, business structures, inheritance and transition, estate and gift taxes, along with retirement planning. A light lunch and workshop materials will be offered free of charge. To get more information or to register contact Colleen Carlson Extension Educator in Scott County 952-492-5483.
