Faribault’s Mayor Apologizes To Family & Community For Past Actions In Social Media Post

Faribault's Mayor Kevin Voracek posted to his Mayoral social media page earlier today an apology for past transgressions that occurred earlier this year, and a renewed commitment towards "God, Family, and Community."

Voracek's message included reflections upon his personal life, as well as an apology to the residents and business owners of Faribault as he stated, "While my personal life doesn't affect how parks are shaped or taxes used, I do owe it to the community to be the best example I can be. If you were offended by my past actions, I'm sorry."

Today, with my son, I leave for a week of rehab and therapy. It has been a tough year thus far in our household due to some bad decisions I have made. It has affected my family's personal life in many ways, and for that, I am truly sorry. I am looking at coming back with a renewed commitment to God, Family, and Community, to be the person my family expects and deserves. While my personal life doesn't affect how parks are shaped or taxes used, I do owe it to the community to be the best example I can be. If you were offended by my past actions, I'm sorry. Please do not comment on this post as I will be out of technology soon. I look forward to seeing you all through a new lens.

Faribault's mayor was charged in April with two counts of fourth-degree driving while impaired charges after the initial traffic stop was conducted on April 7th.

Voracek has been active in many Faribault-related activities and a champion for the city during his time as both Mayor and Faribault council member. Vorachek can often be found working the Blue Collar BBQ Festival downtown in August, participating in Heritage Days, and other countless city/community activities throughout Faribault.

Voracek was re-elected in 2020 and his term runs through December 2024.
