In a voice message for Faribault student's family's last night Superintendent Todd Sesker announced that the Faribault Public School District would be providing meals for school-age children ages 18 and under while schools are not in session due to COVID-19/Coronavirus. Here is what you need to know to receive a meal.

The post on the District's Facebook Page reads:

"While our schools are closed until March 30, it is important that we continue to offer healthy nutrition options for our students. Sack suppers are available for all students age 18 and under from 3-6 p.m. today and tomorrow at Faribault High School, Faribault Middle School and Jefferson Elementary.

Starting Wednesday, March 18, breakfast and lunch will be available for student pick-up from 7-9 a.m. weekdays at Buckham Library, Evergreen Estates, Cannon River Mobile Park and Four Seasons Apartments. We will hand out meals from school buses at these locations.

We will provide childcare for emergency and healthcare workers from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Tuesday, March 17 at Roosevelt Elementary School. An email with a sign-up survey has been sent to all points of contact in the community.

School buildings will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, for students who need to pick up personal items. Medications can be picked up between 8-10 a.m. on Wednesday. Children with controlled medications (narcotic medications) will need to present an ID and sign a form. All medications will be picked up at the school entrance.

The high school fitness center is closed until further notice.

Our school district will continue to provide updates via email, phone message, our website and Facebook as we navigate this public health crisis.

Superintendent Todd Sesker"

On top of the meals that the district is offering, they are also offering the ability for students to pick up any needed materials or medications from their schools today and tomorrow. You can find more information on the meals and where they can be picked up below.
