Lauren McDonough, senior Falcons gymnast picked the perfect time to have the best performance of her high school career.   Buoyed by a 4th place finish in the Floor Excercise McDonough finished 14th in the All-Around at the State Gymnastics meet in Roy Wilkins Auditorium St. Paul.

McDonough scored 9.512, not far behind champion Anna Mielke, senior from Watertown-Mayer 9.637.

Her Vault earned a 9.362 score.  Good enough for 17th place.  Mielke won that event also with a 9.812.

On the Uneven Bars McDonough twisted her way to a 25th place finish with a 8.712 score.  The champion was Lola Visci, sophmore from Big Lake with 9.575.

Balance Beam McDonough was 32nd with a 8.562 score.  First was Reagan Kelly, junior from Watertown-Mayer 9.712.

All-Around Champion is Kelly with a 38.475 score.  McDonough's was 36.150.

Fellow Big Nine gymnast Jenna Sikel, senior, Mankato West was 8th in All-Around 37.050.

Byron junior Amber Roble was 15th, sophmore Lydia Evans 21st.

Pine Island-Zumbrota-Mazeppa senior Isabella Nisbit finished 23rd.

On the Vault Mankato West junior Zoey Hermel, Niya Hauer, freshman, McKenna Schreiber, junior  and Sikel finished 9th, 10th, 12th and 18th respectively.

Lydia Evans, sophmore from Byron was 23rd.  Amber Roble, junior, 24th.

Sikel finished 13th on the Uneven Bars.  Teammate freshman Charley Fernandez was 15th.  Schreiber was 26th.

Sikel was 9th on the Balance Beam.  Teammate Maura Panahon, junior, 21st.  Hauer 28th, Nisbit 29th.

Seventh grader Eleanor Smith of Kasson-Mantorville was 33rd.

Hermel finished second in the Floor Excercise. Panahon 7th, Sikel 9th, Schreiber 12th.

PI/Z-M Nisbit 14th.

Watertown-Mayer/Mound -Westonka  is the Class A team State Champion with team score of 145.750.  Mankato West finished a sliver behind in second with 145.600.  Byron was 8th.

Class AA Champion Wayzata 146.200 edged New Prague 145.725.  Owatonna finished 6th, Rosemount 7th.

The bigger schools All Around champion is Taylor Schaefer, junior, St. Cloud with a score of 38.300.  Finishing second freshman from New Prague Ava Bruegger 37.400.

Vault AA State Champion Schaefer with a 9.275.  Schaefer also had the best score in the Floor Excercise (9.525).  She was tops on the Balance Beam (9.750) and finished 12th on the Uneven Bars.

Class AA Uneven Bars Champion is Sydney Martin, sophmore from Elk River with a score of 8.7250.
