Last Saturday the Faribault Main Street Fall Festival Chili Cook-off took place at the Faribault American Legion. It was moved indoors due to a cold and wet forecast for the day.

There were 14 contestants participating and I was told people did not go away hungry and enjoyed not cancelling the event because of COVID-19 like so many other happenings.

Main Street Program Coordinator Kelly Nygaard says the number of people tasting was down a bit but the enthusiasm was undaunted.

Terrific variety carried the day.  Chili Cook-Off winners were:

  1. Farrell Westerlund
  2. Nancy Greer
  3. Alan Hanson

Best Decorated award went to the Faribault Foundation which featured Peanut Butter Chili.

Second place finisher Nancy Greer had some Jalapeno Cornbread Mini-Muffins to use to sponge up the cup of chili.

There were hot and mild recipes for all to enjoy.

Speaking of food, the Trinity Lutheran Church 10500 215th Street West,  North Morristown is going to have their annual Fall Dinner.

Turkey, ham with all the trimmings will be served.  Due to COVID-19 there will be take out meals only.

Weather permitting you will purchase tickets at the July 4th celebration grounds across the road from the church.  Drive to the south side of the church.  Provide your ticket.  The meal will be brought to your vehicle.

Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

There will be no craft sale or bake sale this year.

Cost is $10 per meal.
