The Faribault Falcon boys soccer team opened their season with a 4-0 win over the Waseca Bluejays in Waseca Thursday night.  It was also the Bluejays opener.  If you were to keep time of possession Faribault probably had a 3 to 1 margin or better.   Falcon Head Coach Brendan Cox was very pleased with the team's debut.

I counted 17 shots for Faribault and 5 for Waseca.  Every player saw the field for the Falcons.  The first goal of the 2018 season was scored by junior Ahmed Ali with 8:15 to go in the first half on an assist by classmate Abdimutalib Abdullahi.  Faribault scored their second goal thirty five seconds into the second half when Abdullahi hammered the ball to the back of the net.

At 23:56 to go Ali connected on his second goal of the season and the scoring was completed with 14:54 to go in the game by senior Hamze Aden.  Junior Gabriel Gonzalez Sanchez was the goalkeeper in the shutout victory.
