Donald J. Meehl, 92, Faribault

Donald J. Meehl, age 92, of Faribault, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Emeralds of Faribault.

Donald John was born on January 1, 1932, the son of Goodwin and Mabel (Mosher) Meehl.  He was married to Bernadette Caron on June 2, 1951, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault.  He worked at Nutting Truck and Caster Co. for 27 years.  For 46 years he owned and operated Meehl’s Service Station providing full automobile service to numerous customers.  Don enjoyed life at the lake going on pontoon rides and fishing.  He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, softball, playing cards, and bowling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Bernadette Meehl; sons, Brad Meehl (Cheryl), Bruce Meehl, and David Meehl; 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Goodwin and Mabel; daughter, Debra Newcombe; son, Dean Meehl; David’s wife, Shelly Meehl; three sisters, Eleanor Berg, Patricia Moriarity, and Donna Kelsey; and brothers, Cliff Meehl, and Chuck Meehl.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Church officiating.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.
