Lindstrom, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota's OSHA office is investigating a deadly worksite accident in east-central Minnesota.

The Lakes Area Police Department says a construction worker died Tuesday afternoon in a partial trench collapse. The deadly incident was reported around 4:30 PM in Lindstrom at the construction site for a new apartment building.

A news release says Lakes Area Police Officers, Chisago County Deputies, and Lindstrom Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the 48-year-old man from the trench. He was being transported by ambulance to a landing site for a medical helicopter flight to a hospital when he died from his injuries.

The victim's name has not been released.
