Owatonna's Wenger Corporation and Cybex International made contributions to the Owatonna Foundation recently.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony for their building expansion in Owatonna, Cybex International delivered a check for $10,000 to the Owatonna Foundation, according to a press release distributed by the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism in their weekly email newsletter. Cybex is part of the Life Fitness brand family.

Foundation President Betsy Lindgren said in the announcement, "We are extremely grateful to the Life Fitness family for making this donation." She added, "It has been amazing to watch Cybex grow, and their recent expansion is a great example of their continued commitment to Owatonna and to their employees."

"This gift will help us to continue the Foundation's mission of improving the quality of life for present and future generations by supporting Owatonna projects that focus on community, arts, recreation, and education." The Owatonna Foundation website cites the aquatic center, Owatonna library, the Steele County History Center and the Central Park bandshell as projects they have supported.

Wenger Corp. made a donation of $2,000 to the foundation. Wenger makes products for performing arts, music education and athletic facilities, according to a press release from the Owatonna Foundation. Wenger President and CEO Chris Simpson is quoted in the release saying, "We are very pleased to be able to support the Owatonna Foundation with this gift. Their continued support of Owatonna projects has created a community that benefits all of us and makes Owatonna a better place for our employees."

Lindgren said, "From the 259 projects that we have partnered with since the Foundation's inception, to the many projects we will help to fund in the future, we are confident that their employees that live and work in Owatonna will continue to enjoy the benefits of these Foundation-supported projects."

The Owatonna Foundation website indicates that since their incorporation in 1957, they have distributed more than $11 million in grants. Find out about making a donation.
