Curtis Q. Greer, age 84, of Hayward, WI and formerly of Faribault, MN passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center.

Curtis Quentin, the son of Anthony and Barbara (Stavanaugh) Greer, was born on December 7, 1939 in Faribault, MN. Curt was raised on the family farm near Roberds Lake and graduated from Faribault High School with the Class of 1958. He was united in marriage to Ruth Anne Van Houdt in February of 1963. They later divorced in 2010. He worked as an ironworker in the Twin Cities for 35 years before retiring and moving to Hayward. Curtis was a part of the Ironworkers Local 512, Cedar Lake Sportsmen Club, and the Faribault Loyal Order of Moose 2098. While he wasn’t working and during retirement, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, playing cards, snowmobiling, watching the Vikings and Twins, and being a man about town. He enjoyed going to the Shieldsville Tavern, D+H Lodge in the winter, Lemieux’s Resort in the summer, and spending time with his friends and he had a nickname for all of them and always had an insightful quip to share.

Curtis is survived by his daughter Lynn of Hayward, WI; son, Curt (Heidi) and their daughter, Hallie all of Deephaven, MN; sister, Gay (Chuck) and their children, Jamie (Mark) Schulz, Kelly (Mike) Yaremchuk, Lisa (Pete) Krilles and their children, and Dawn Swanson; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard; and sisters, Helena Karow and Sheila Stoos.
