COVID Cases in Kamala Harris Campaign Impact Rochester Event
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The husband of Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris will not be joining Jill Biden during a campaign stop in Rochester today.
The Biden-Harris Presidential campaign today announced Harris has suspended her travels because two people involved in the campaign tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. While Kamala Harris did not have close contact with the individuals, they were on a plane with her prior to a flight on October 8th, and out of an abundance of caution, the campaign has decided to cancel her travel plans through Sunday.
In addition, her husband's campaign appearances that were scheduled today have been canceled even though Doug Emhoff was not on the plane with his wife and has received negative results from several COVID-19 tests in recent days. Emhoff is set to resume his campaign schedule tomorrow.
He was supposed to accompany Jill Biden during stops in Rochester and the Twin Cities today. The wife of Joe Biden is still scheduled to meet today with a group of essential workers in Rochester. Details about her visit, including the time, location, and the essential workers involved, have not been released.
