Faribault City Emergency Management Director Dustin Dienst shared information concerning the disbursement of vaccine in Minnesota. The total doses promised to Minnesota from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) were 541,100.  Doses shipped to Minnesota providers has been 329,450.

Doses shipped for the CDC long-term care vaccination program 100,500.  Those numbers are as of Monday, January 11, 2021.

Statewide 144,503 people have received at least one vaccine dose (remember two doses are required about three weeks apart).  7,392 people have completed the vaccine series according to Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) information reported January 9, 2021.

The MDH says data is updated each day at 11:00 a.m. unless otherwise specified, but there is a delay between a vaccine being given and when it is reported to the MDH.  This happens they say, "because the state must validate and process the data before reporting."

The Vaccine Distribution Dashboard states, "It is estimated that at least 7 our of every 10 Minnesotans will need to be vaccinated in order to end this pandemic and get back to the things we love.  Talking to your friends and family will help this happen quickly."

The COVID-19 vaccine is being distributed in phases.  All Minnesotans will have access to the vaccine.

Phase 1a includes health care personnel and long-term care residents.

Phase 1b adults aged 75 and over and frontline essential workers.

Phase 1c adults aged 65-74.  People aged 16-64 with high-risk medical conditions and other essential workers.

The Minnesota Department of Health says we are currently in Phase 1a.
