St Paul (KROC AM News) - The state of Minnesota continues performing hundreds of COVID-19 tests on a daily basis and the running total has reached nearly 116,000.

Another 528 positive cases were reported Monday. The state’s total of positive cases has grown to 11,799.

Thirteen more deaths were reported Monday, raising the total to 591. Eight of the latest deaths were residents of nursing homes or assisted living facilities. All but about 120 of the deaths reported so far have involved congregate care facilities.

The White House Monday recommended that all nursing home residents and staff in the country be tested for the new coronavirus in the next two weeks. Dr. Deborah Birx told governors the White House will help states that need it.
