St Paul (KROC AM News) - Minnesota recorded its highest number of deadly COVID-19 cases to date Wednesday with a total of 32. 

That raised the overall total to 809 with 663 of the victims listed as residents of long term care or assisted living centers. One of the latest deaths was reported in Goodhue County. 

More than 500 new positive cases were reported Wednesday, increasing the total to more than 18,000. Just over 2100 of the cases involved health care workers. Patients no longer needing isolation was put at 12,488.

The report shows more than 6,000 additional tests were confirmed Wednesday, raising the total to more than 173,000. 

The number of current hospitalizations was put at 566 with 229 patients in intensive care.
