Corky’s Early Bird Donates $25,000 Towards Owatonna’s ‘We All Play’ Park

Owatonna Parks and Recreation went LIVE via Facebook yesterday with a pretty big announcement surrounding the 'We All Play' park in Owatonna. Parks and Recreation shared the news that Corky's Early Bird Softball Tournament was donating $25,000 to go towards the new park. How cool is that?

The announcement was made yesterday morning at Manthey Park. The announcement started off with thanks to the Owatonna Foundation for the matching grant to purchase all of the playground equipment, and also thanks to all those who have donated to the project.

Corky's Early Bird's $25,000 donation is being made with the expectation that there will be a matching "last push program for that last bit of donations" for the project.

The project has been in the works for the last 5 years, and it's starting to become a reality for residents in Owatonna.

Corky's normally would be happening this weekend in Owatonna, but due to the pandemic, it is being held at the end of July into August. According to the group's social media account this year "the 2021 dates are July 29-Aug1." Corky's is a tournament that "teams come from all over the United States and Canada to try their luck against some of the best teams in the nation".

The video went on to detail what is taking place at the park with the construction of a storage/concessions building and the placement of playground equipment. Towards the end of the video, the playground equipment arrived with much fanfare from those participating in the video.
