National Cereal Day was last weekend and the results of a new survey say our favorite cereal here in Minnesota is... raisin bran?

I used to eat a LOT of cereal. And not just for breakfast, either. I'd have a big bowl of Frosted Flakes or Cinnamon Toast Crunch for dinner before I was married-- and was too lazy to make anything else.

So I'm totally down with cereal. And, the results from all the festivities of last Saturday's National Cereal Day (did you know it was National Cereal Day last weekend? I didn't...) are now in, and we know which cereals we like the most.

According to the gang over at TheDaringKitchen.com, and their map of the Most Popular Cereals, it appears raisin bran is the cereal we like the most here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. We're one of only three states where that cereal comes in at number-one (It's also the most popular cereal in Nevada and Maine).

Nationally, my personal fav, Frosted Flakes, are the most popular overall, with 12 different states agreeing with me that they're...great! (Thank you, Tony the Tiger.) Rounding out the rest of the top five most popular kinds of cereal are Honey Bunches of Oats, Cheerios, Lucky Charms and Fruit Loops.

Not to cast doubt on this cereal survey, but I'm a little surprised that Cheerios didn't take the top spot here in Minnesota. Cheerios are, of course, one of the big cereals made by General Mills, which is a proud Minnesota company, headquartered up in Golden Valley.

Do you agree that raisin bran is the most popular cereal in Minnesota?
