Byron Car Thieves Caught in Iowa
Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - After a brief respite, car thieves are striking in the Byron area again.
The first was reported stolen early Tuesday and was later involved in a police pursuit in Iowa.
The Olmsted County Sheriff's office says the vehicle was discovered missing around 5:45 AM from a residence in the 9000 block of County Rd 3 NW. The owner had left the keys in the vehicle and the garage door open.
The vehicle was later involved in a pursuit in the Ellsworth, Iowa area. After it crashed, the three occupants fled on foot. Two were caught. One is a 14-year-old girl from the Byron area and the other is a 15-year-old boy from Rochester.
The other vehicle was reported missing Tuesday morning from the 600 block of 3rd Ave NW in Byron. It was found abandoned several hours later in the 2300 block of County Road 104.
