Bidding Begins Friday for Young Life Cake Auction

Bidding begins Friday, April 16 in the 43rd annual Young Life Cake Auction. The auction is online again this year with an in-person aspect as well. While the amazing cakes and specials that come with each are very appetizing, the bottom line is raising money for Owatonna's Young Life program.

A public walk-through event gives bidders and people ready to be "wowed" by the creations, a chance to see the cakes in-person. Trinity Lutheran Church is hosting the cake auction. The walk-through is open from 8 to 11 am on Saturday, April 17. A presentation of the cakes and specials, and the sponsors, will happen through OwatonnaLive.com beginning at 9 am Saturday. Young Life participants will also get a chance to share their story during the stream.

An email from Owatonna Young Life states, "So come on out (to Trinity Lutheran Church), say hello, pick up a $40 sale cake to eat for lunch and celebrate with us the opportunity to share Jesus with kids."

Bidding will be through the Owatonna Young Life website with groups of cakes closing at 12 pm, 1 pm and 2 pm on Saturday. If you have questions about bidding or need assistance, call 507-774-0843.

See the complete list of cake specials. This year marks the return of actual cakes at the Cake Auction. In 2020, with the pandemic just beginning, virtual cakes were auctioned and the event was still a success in supporting Owatonna Young Life.
