A sport that has really caught on and grown in just the last few years is archery. More and more schools are joining in too. There's actually a National Archery Day. It's been observed the second Saturday in May since 2015. So this year it will be on Saturday, May 12.

Archery was an Olympic sport in 1900 and then three more games through 1920 and then it went by the wayside. Archery returned to the Olympics in 1972.

Archers or those who would like to learn more about archery are invited to the Owatonna Archery Range this Saturday from 10-2PM. The range opened last fall and is at 711 North Elm. The activities will be free Saturday. Demos will take place between 12-2PM. You can try out equipment and get your questions answered about archery.

The Steele County 4-H is providing the demos and the equipment for Saturday's event.
