After COVID-19 Struggles, Famous St. Paul Diner Hopes To Reopen In Spring
An iconic St. Paul restaurant met its demise during the COVID-19 shutdown. But thanks to the love and generosity of loyal patrons, the beloved diner plans to reopen in the Spring.

Owners Eric Mattson and his daughter, Melissa, plan to renovate the diner back to its 1950s look, but with the addition of a heating and cooling system.
According to a report by KSTP.com, Eric Mattson said, "I want to get the place back up and running, but I'd like it to be a museum when we get done. I'd like it to be perfect. I'd like it to be the way it was."

Due to construction delays and supply chain issues, the diner's reopening date has been pushed back till next Spring.
The owners remain hopeful.
"It's a labor of love," Melissa Mattson said. "It really is. It's not a job right now. It's keeping the building alive."
