Downtown Northfield's Froggy Bottoms River Pub & Lily PADio will be closing for good on Sunday. The river pub announced the closure on social media earlier today. The reason behind the closure is one that many businesses are currently dealing with, a lack of employees.

The post by Froggy bottoms River Pub & Lily PADio was met with surprise from those who commented on the announcement.

Hey, folks;
We've got an announcement regarding the pub. There's been quite the buzz about town about whether Froggys is closing- we are.
Sunday is our last day. We just can't find people to work, and that just doesn't make good Frogonomics. We are helping transition our people over to other jobs so hopefully, the impact is minimal for them. We have really enjoyed making a positive impact on our friends and customers! That being said, come one down for the last couple of days of live music and have yourself a burger and some frickles! It's been a ride! Thanks for your support!

According to the pub's Facebook page: "Come hell or high water Froggy Bottoms River Pub has been a staple in Northfield since 2001 surviving through the 2010 flood when “The water was this high” and in 2014 & 2016 when Northfield volunteers worked 24-hour shifts to keep the floors dry until the water receded. The original spiral staircase welcomes all ages to enjoy a variety of great appetizers, wraps, and burgers, and voted Southern Minn Scene’s “Best place for Fries” in 2015 & "Best Bloody Mary 2016"."

The pub has changed hands over the last several years with the latest round of owners, the new owners Mike Gasior, and Cindy & Neal Wilson, purchasing the restaurant in Northfield in June of 2021, and opening just two months later in August.

For those wishing to kiss the frog goodbye, you can stop by between now and Sunday to reminisce and enjoy the ambiance along the river one last time.

Enjoy lake life with an enormous fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, and wonderful views of Cannon Lake with this 1970s rambler that has hit the market in Faribault. While you have views of the lake from both inside the home and out on the property it's the gourmet kitchen and oversized fireplace that draws your attention inside. The basement has room for a pool table and even features a small bar area complete with vintage corrugated steel along the interior of the basement, as an accent.
