6 Places to Rent a Boat this Summer Near Rochester

In Minnesota, we know we need to soak up the warmth as much as we can, which is why so many of us spend a lot of time on the water in the summer! If you're like me, though, you don't own a boat. I still love spending time on the water but that means I need to find a rental. Luckily there are some options right here in Rochester, MN and nearby.

We aren't just talking about kayaks or canoes. While those are cool and there are options for that, there are also options for motorized boats. So it totally depends on what you're feeling!

Places to Rent a Boat Near Rochester, MN

Boulder Dam Canoe and Kayak - Oronoco, MN

At Boulder Dam in Oronoco, you'll have to do a little work with these boats because they have canoes and kayaks that you can rent. My personal favorite is kayaks.

King's Marina - Rochester, MN

If you'd rather put in a little less arm work you can rent motorized boats from King's Marina in Rochester! If you want details about rentals you'll have to call them at (507) 367-4585.

Lake City Boat Rentals - Lake City, MN

Lake City Boat Rentals also has motorized boats for you to rent but these are on Lake Pepin and the Mississippi. They're located in Lake City and also Wabasha.

Red Wing Marina - Red Wing, MN

Red Wing Marina in Red Wing is another spot close to Rochester where you can rent a boat for the day. They even have one that's only for four people. Most boats you can rent seat up to 13 but when there are just 2 of you having a four-person option is nice.

River Valley Marine - Red Wing, MN

River Valley Marine is another spot in Red Wing to rent from. They have four different boats to choose from depending on the number of people that will be coming with you.

Silver Lake Boat Rentals - Rochester, MN

And finally in Rochester is Silver Lake Boat Rentals. Just like at Boulder Dam, they don't have pontoons or anything like that but you can rent canoes, kayaks, or paddleboats that look super fun.
