5 Important Dates at Owatonna High School in the New Year
After a little "time to rest and recharge," Owatonna High School students should be ready for a busy January 2022. In a January newsletter from the school district, OHS principal Kory Kath states, "We are definitely building to a well deserved break for students and staff."
"We want to thank you all for your patience and cooperation as we enhanced security protocols over the past few weeks. Student safety is our top priority and we will do all we can to ensure they are safe at school. Please continue to talk to your child about social media and the consequences of spreading rumors online."
With the holiday break from school running Friday, December 24 through Sunday, January 2, here are some important dates for January.
- Monday, January 3, school resumes
- Monday, January 10, Cyber Parenting Event (more details below)
- Monday, January 17, staff development day (no school)
- Thursday, January 20, end of second quarter and first semester
- Friday, January 21, teacher work day (no school)
Parents are guardians are invited to "Cyber Parenting" Monday, January 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Owatonna Middle School. The newsletter indicates, "this session outlines best practices and proactive measures families can take to keep children on the right path and protect their digital footprint."

The newsletter also reminds everyone who attends athletic and fine arts events which require tickets that effective January 1, 2022, "we will no longer by accepting cash/check payment nor do we accept debit or credit cards at the door."
