Minnesotans who choose to get vaccinated at Terminal 2 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport will be entered to win a $200 travel voucher via Sun Country Airlines.

The drawing runs now through September 22. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made the announcement yesterday to encourage Minnesotans to get the shot.

Walz was quoted in the official news release saying, "whether you are traveling or not, the vaccine is the ticket to protecting your family from COVID-19."

Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan stated, "The time is now to join your fellow Minnesotans and get your shot to help protect yourself and your community from COVID-19."

The vaccine site at Terminal 2 is located at 7150 Humphrey Drive and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are parking vouchers available at the vaccine site, you just have to ask an employee about it. They will allow you to park for up to an hour for free.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is encouraging people who are unvaccinated to not travel over Labor Day weekend. This includes families with children who cannot get vaccinated. They also mentioned that those who have received the shot should still be careful, too.

Masks are still required on planes, buses, trains and other forms of public transportation in the United States.

Other CDC tips over the holiday weekend include; avoiding crowds by social distancing at least 6 feet, wearing a mask that covers your nose and mouth and washing your hands and using hand sanitizer.
