Steele County Traffic Fatal

The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing their investigation into a fatal head-on collision just outside Blooming Prairie this morning. The accident occurred on Highway 218 just north of town around 6:45AM.

A southbound vehicle operated by 43-year-old Karl Erickson of Austin crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle operated by 79-year-old Paul Ingvaldson of Blooming Prairie. Erickson and his passenger, 9 year old Elijah Erickson were killed.

Ingvaldson was hospitalized with serious injuries.
