UPDATE ON OWATONNA PARKS

Owatonna Parks Director James Ebeling reports Dartts Park is open.

Still Closed: Mineral Springs, Morehouse, Kaplan's Woods, Lake Kohlmeier remain closed. Muckle Trail is closed, Bridge Street to North Street. Other trails are open. Be careful, stay safe!

A state of emergency is in effect in Steele County. Emergency Manager Mike Johnson reminds residents to call 911 in case of an emergency. Or call 444-2454 for flood information. You can also follow the Steele County Emergency Management facebook page for updates.

An Emergency City Council Meeting will take place Monday at 5:30 in the Council Chambers to terminate the Declaration of the State of Emergency. Information for a debris removal program will also be presented for discussion and consideration if a program to assist the public in clean-up from the storms will be offered.

Need a clean-up kit? Go to Salvation Army, 1810 South Cedar Avenue in Owatonna. Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 4; Saturday, 9:30 to 3.

MN Department of Health offers flood clean-up tips.

Community members can pick up sandbags at the City of Owatonna garage at 1100 Industrial Drive.  Emergency responders cannot assist is sandbagging operations at every private residence. "Please ask friends, family and neighbors for help in safegaurding private homes and personal property," said Johnson.

Steele County Sheriff Lon Thiele has declared a NO WAKE zone for Beaver Lake, until further notice.
