Owatonna High School volleyball will open the Section 1AAA tournament at home Friday. As the #2 seed they will await the winner of the 7 vs 10 match Wednesday. (LOCAL BRACKETS)

 

Volleyball playoff action begins Thursday (October 23) for a number of local teams. Medford & Blooming Prairie have home matches that night. NRHEG & Triton go on the road. Owatonna opens at home Friday night at 7:00.

 

 

OWATONNA EARNS #2 SEED IN 1AAA

Big Nine champ Rochester Mayo (23-3) is the top seed. Owatonna (19-9) got the #2 seed ahead of Faribault (19-9) despite losing to the Falcons during the season. The Huskies have a slightly better section record and QRF ranking. The first round of Section 1AAA is Wednesday. Owatonna will play Friday night at 7:00 at OHS vs Hastings. BLOOMING PRAIRIE & MEDFORD OPEN AT HOME THURSDAY IN 1A

The Awesome Blossoms are the #3 seed in the West Subsection of 1A. Blooming Prairie will host Lyle Thursday at 7:00. BP beat Lyle 2-0 this season. Medford is the #4 seed and will entertain Southland Thursday night. The teams split matches during the Rebels Tournament this season. Faribault BA is the top seed in the subsection.

 

 

PANTHERS & COBRAS GO ON THE ROAD THURSDAY, SEEKING UPSETS

NRHEG is the #5 seed in the South Subsection of 2AA and will play at Tri City United, who they lost to 3-0 late in the season. The match is Thursday in Montgomery. Kenyon Wanimingo is the top seed in subsection.

Triton is the #7 seed in Section 1AA West and will face HVL counterpart Kasson Mantorville at 7:00 Thursday. The Komets swept Triton 3-0 this season. Stewartville is the top seed.
