After about three years on the job, Jennifer Libby is resigning as President / CEO of the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism to accept another position in the community.

In a press release distributed to KRFO radio Monday, the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, "announces the resignation of Jennifer Libby upon the acceptance of a new position. Libby has served as President / CEO for the past three years." The release indicates the board of directors will begin the process of creating a search committee to find her replacement soon.

In an email sent to KRFO Radio, Libby said, "My last day will be July 8. I have accepted another role within our wonderful community." She does not state what that position is or with what organization or business. In her email she thanks those who have worked with her over her years in town.

Libby says she arrived in Owatonna in 1999 with the intention of living "here for a year or two. Then I quickly learned of the charm and uniquely successful business climate, truly a rare combination, and this community became our home, personally and professionally." Libby added in her email, "Owatonna will continue to succeed with your support, vision and innovation, accomplishing more collectively than we ever could individually."

Chamber chairman Matt Ketelsen stated in the press release, "We thank Jennifer for her leadership and contributions and wish her all the best in her new role."
