I Told The Truth

My mother taught me to tell the truth and I got my chance yesterday.The phone rang  and the lady said that this would be my last chance to buy a car warranty. "According to our records, the warranty on your car has expired. Is this correct?"

Well, I told her the truth.  I said "I'm not sure, but I assume it's expired. I expect to hit 324,000 miles on my car sometime next week"

This is followed by about 10 seconds of complete silence.

The lady then says "I'm sorry we couldn't help you today, have a good day" and she hung up.
