Owatonna's passing game carried the night as the Huskies rolled past Faribault 41-0 to open the high school football season. New starting quarterback Sol Havelka had four touchdown passes, while future Gopher Jason Williamson spent most of the night on the sidelines as he completes his recovery from a calf injury.

Havelka hit Isaac Oppegard for a 17-yard score midway through the first quarter. Ethan Walter scored on a run and a pass reception before the end of the first period for a 20-0 advantage.

While only playing a few downs Williamson made an impact, catching a short shovel pass and taking in 45 yards for pay dirt early in the second quarter. OHS led 27-0 at halftime.

Havelka connected with Carson DeKam for a 54-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Quarterback Brayden Truelson snuck in the fourth quarter for the final touchdown. David Keller went 4-for-5 on PATs. Sam Henson drilled his only attempt.

Owatonna had just 70 yards rushing on 31 carries, but threw the ball for 256 yards. The Falcons ran for 119 yards, but completed just 2-of-15 pass attempts for eight yards. Oppegard made two interceptions.

The Huskies go to Rochester Mayo Friday, September 7.
