Owatonna, Blooming Prairie and Triton will all host games Tuesday. NRHEG and Medford go on the road as the section football playoffs commence. (AUDIO from the coaches!)

Defending State Champion Owatonna (5-3) will begin its title defense against Austin (3-5) Tuesday at the OHS Football Field in the 1-5A quarterfinals. The Huskies beat the Packers 42-14 in week 5 of the season. OHS coach Jeff Williams has this preview of the game:

Unbeaten Blooming Prairie (8-0) got the #2 seed in section 1A. Coach Chad Gimbel comments on their placement, and their opponent Fillmore Central (2-6):

Triton (7-1) also got a #2 seed in their section (1AA). They will host St. Charles (1-7) Tuesday at the Snake Pit in Dodge Center, a team they just beat 67-0 last Wednesday. Cobras coach Don Henderson knows it's one-game-at-a-time, but we coaxed a couple of comments out of him about the #1 seed Caledonia:

NRHEG (3-5) goes to Maple River (7-1) Tuesday night in 3AA quarterfinals. The Panthers lost 13-0 to the Eagles in week 4, pubt NRHEG coach Dan Stork is excited for a rematch:

Medford (0-8) goes on the road to play the top seed in section 2AA Norwood Young America (7-1). Last year NYA came into Medford with a 2-7 record in the section semifinals and scored the win, before losing to Pine Island in the section finals. This year Tigers coach Jerome Johannes hopes his Tigers can turn-the-tables on the Raiders:
