Now that we have teenage children, the excitement (and wake up time) on Christmas morning has changed a bit. Instead of the kids waking before dawn and begging us to hurry downstairs to see what Santa left, we have to wake them up before it gets too late.

I am not complaining! The idea of a leisurely cup of coffee before gift wrapping flies through the air, is fine with me.

When I think back to some of my favorite toys at Christmas, one of my earliest memories is getting a toy fire truck and crawling around the house on 'emergency calls.' I also remember the sibling rivalry that I had with my younger brother. We had to get the exact same toys for Christmas and birthdays! We are three years apart. And the fierceness of the rivalry has long since cooled off.

While we are thinking about favorite toys and the wonder of Christmas, it's worth a look at the Toy Hall of Fame to see what toys have stood the test of time. The newest inductees are chess & the rubber duck!

I'd like to nominate BUBBLE WRAP for inclusion!

Merry Christmas !!
