Additional Information

River Bend Nature Center’s education staff invite seniors and other interested adults to join them for the March session of their monthly Lifelong Learning program on Wednesday, March 2, from 1-3PM. The March Lifelong Learning topic will be "Trapping 101."

High school biology teacher Peter Jacobson will teach participants about the rich history of trapping in Minnesota and issues related to trapping like furbearer management, conservation through trapping, and human-wildlife conflicts. Jacobson will demonstrate some of the tools and traps used by local trappers. Participants will then go on a short hike outside to learn about how trappers select trapping areas and will also have a chance to practice setting traps.

The fee for this program is $10 per person ($8 for River Bend members). Preregistration is required by February 26. For more information or to register, please call River Bend at (507) 332-7151 or visit their website at www.rbnc.org.
